A survey on school dropouts in the rural area of Kalyan in Bapgaon was conducted by the Women Development Cell-WDC & Department of Life Long Learning Experiences – DLLE of our college On 13th February 2026. A team of college volunteers conducted survey through door-to-door interactions and interviews with parents, students, and local residents. The questionnaire was prepared to collect information regarding age, gender, educational background, financial condition, and reasons for discontinuing education.
During the survey, it was observed that the major reasons for school dropouts included poverty, lack of parental support, child labor, early marriage, and lack of interest in studies. In some cases, transportation problems and family responsibilities also contributed to students leaving school.
The survey helped us understand the seriousness of the dropout problem and the need for collective efforts to improve educational opportunities.
