College, organised A one-day Hybrid “National Conference on ‘Indian Knowledge System: An Interdisciplinary
and Multidisciplinary Approach”.
The event aimed to explore and promote the richness of traditional Indian knowledge in various fields, fostering discussions among academicians, researchers, and scholars.
The conference commenced with an inaugural session graced by distinguished guests including Advisory Committee members, College Chairman Shri. Prakash Mutha sir, CA Anvesha Mutua (College Trustee), Principal Mrs. Anuja Brahma, IQAC Coordinator Mrs. Deepshikha Jain and HOD’s and faculty members. College Principal Mrs. Anuja Brahma and Chairman of college Mr. Prakash Mutha delivered a welcome and inaugural address respectively, highlighting the significance of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) in contemporary research and education.
Inaugural Session Chairperson Dr. Kishori Bhagat, (Dean,Commerce & Management,University of Mumbai) an expert in specific areas of IKS, e.g., Vedic studies, Ayurveda, traditional sciences delivered an insightful speech on the various facets of IKS and how they can be integrated into modern systems of education, healthcare, and societal
development. Their address focused on the importance of reviving ancient knowledge in the context of global challenges.The conference started with the keynote speaker Dr. Shrikant Chavan ( HOD, Asst Professor,Department if English,Karnataka) where he emphasized the need to integrate traditional wisdom with modern scientific
advancements.
Three resource persons for Plenary Session – Dr. Madhu Shukre (Commerce Dept., Birla College), Dr. Mahesh Dalvi (Librarian, Dnyansadhana College, Thane) and Adv. Suyash Pradhan (Principal, Anand Vishwa Gurukul College of Law, Thane discussed the role of IKS in contemporary education and research. To further highlight the richness of IKS, a brief cultural presentation was held, featuring classical dance, music, and a demonstration of traditional healing practices, which showcased the depth and beauty of India’s knowledge heritage.
In the Technical Session, a total of nine participants presented their research papers, both in online and offline modes. Dr. B. T. Mukharjee (Principal, Tilak College, Dombivali) was the chairperson for the session. There were total 36 participants.The presentations covered diverse themes related to Indian Knowledge Systems.
The conference concluded with a valedictory session where certificates were distributed to the participants. The organizing committee expressed gratitude to all attendees, paper presenters, and resource persons. The session ended with a vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of the organizing team and the valuable contributions from the participants.
